Buddhist Circuit Tourist Train Journey

Day 1Departure from Delhi to Gaya (990 km)

1:00 PM: Gather at Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi to board the special Buddhist Circuit Tourist Train.

2:30 PM: The journey begins as the train departs for Gaya.

8:00 PM: Dinner is served on board as the train rolls towards Gaya.

Day 2Arrival at Gaya – Excursion to Bodhgaya (16 km)

Early morning tea, followed by freshening up and breakfast on board.

Upon arrival in Gaya, travel by coach to Bodhgaya.

Check-in at the hotel and relax after lunch.

Explore the sacred sites of Bodhgaya: the Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjana River, and Buddha Statue, along with the Thai and Japanese temples.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Gaya – Varanasi

After breakfast, check out and journey to Rajgir by coach.

Visit key sites in Rajgir including Bimbisara’s Jail, Gridhakuta Hill, and Venuvan.

Lunch at a local hotel.

Continue to Nalanda to explore the ancient Nalanda University ruins and Nalanda Archaeological Museum.

Head back to Gaya Railway Station and board the train.

Dinner on board as the train departs for Varanasi.

Day 4Varanasi – Sarnath – Nautanwa

Morning tea and breakfast on board before reaching Varanasi.

Visit Sarnath to see the Dhamek Stupa, Sarnath Museum, Ashokan Pillar, and Mulgandha Kuti Vihara.

Check in to the hotel for lunch, wash, and change.

In the evening, experience the spiritual Ganga Aarti at the Varanasi Ghats.

Return to the train and continue the journey to Nautanwa, the gateway to Lumbini in Nepal.

Dinner on board.

Day 5Nautanwa – Lumbini (Nepal)

Morning tea and breakfast onboard.

Arrive at Nautanwa and cross the border by coach to Lumbini (carry valid passport, visa, and photographs as required).

Hotel check-in followed by lunch.

Visit Lumbini’s holy sites including the Maya Devi Temple and Ashokan Pillar.

Dinner and overnight stay in Lumbini.

Day 6Lumbini – Kushinagar – Gorakhpur

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out.

Drive to Kushinagar, where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.

After lunch, explore Mahaparinirvan Temple, Rambhar Stupa, and Mata Kutir Temple.

Continue by coach to Gorakhpur Railway Station and board the train to Balrampur.

Dinner is served on board during the onward journey to Sravasti.

Day 7Sravasti Exploration – Travel to Agra

Arrive early at Balrampur Railway Station.

Tea on board before traveling by coach to Sravasti.

Visit the ancient Buddhist sites of Jetavana Monastery, Pakki Kuti, and Sehat Mahet.

Return to the hotel for lunch and relaxation.

Later, board the train at Balrampur Railway Station for an overnight journey to Agra.

Dinner on board.

Day 8Agra – Delhi (220 km)

Early morning arrival in Agra. Refresh and enjoy breakfast on board.

Visit the iconic Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Proceed to Agra Cantt Railway Station.

After lunch and evening tea on board, the train arrives at Delhi’s Safdarjung Station, marking the end of your enriching spiritual journey.
