Day 01Arrival in Nepal (Kathmandu)

Arrive in Kathmandu around midnight. The vibrant capital city serves as the cultural and logistical gateway for travelers heading to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Kathmandu Valley, rich in history and culture, flourished during the Malla dynasty in the 16th and 17th centuries.

 

Day 02Kathmandu Sightseeing & Yatra Briefing

After breakfast, explore the spiritual heart of Kathmandu — Durbar Square — where centuries-old temples and palaces reflect Nepal’s deep-rooted heritage. Visit the unique Kumari Temple, home to the living goddess. Then proceed to Swayambhunath Stupa, one of Nepal’s oldest and most revered Buddhist sites, renowned for the iconic Buddha eyes watching over the world. Next, visit Bodhnath Stupa, the largest in Nepal, where Buddhist rituals have been performed for over 2000 years. In the evening, attend a comprehensive briefing about the upcoming Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage.

Day 03Kathmandu to Nyalam (Approx. 150 km)

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Nyalam, a town perched at 3,750 meters altitude. Enjoy picturesque views of rural villages and the Himalayan foothills during this 8-9 hour drive.

Day 04Nyalam to Yak Kharkha (Approx. 240 km)

After breakfast, drive to Yak Kharkha situated at 4,675 meters. This challenging yet breathtaking 8-9 hour journey takes you deeper into the high-altitude Tibetan plateau.

Day 05Yak Kharkha to New Dongba (Approx. 160 km)

Today’s drive to New Dongba at 4,500 meters offers thrilling landscapes and a chance to witness remote mountain villages. The 6-7 hour journey promises both adventure and awe-inspiring views.

Day 06New Dongba to Mayumla Phedi (Approx. 210 km)

Travel from New Dongba to Mayumla Phedi, nestled at 4,500 meters, surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks. This day is filled with serene natural beauty.

Day 07Mayumla Phedi to Mansarovar (Approx. 120 km)

Proceed to Lake Mansarovar, situated at 4,560 meters. This sacred lake is an important pilgrimage site, believed to cleanse sins and grant spiritual merit.

Day 08Mansarovar to Darchen

Enjoy a jeep tour around the Kailash Mansarovar region. Visit the serene Chui Gompa monastery if time permits before continuing on to Darchen (4,560 meters), the starting point for the Kailash Parikrama.

Day 09Darchen to Dira Puk (Approx. 12 km Trek)

Begin the sacred Kailash Parikrama trek from Darchen’s Tarboche. Mt. Kailash, standing majestically at 6,740 meters, is revered by Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon religion alike. Its four faces are said to be the source of four major rivers: Indus, Brahmaputra, Karnali, and Sutlej. Trek to Dira Puk (4,775 meters) and soak in the spiritual energy of this holy mountain.

Day 10Dira Puk to Zuthul Puk via Dolma La Pass (Approx. 22 km Trek)

Today’s challenging trek takes you over the Dolma La Pass at 5,650 meters, the highest point of the Parikrama. Descend to Zuthul Puk at 4,700 meters to rest after this demanding ascent.

Day 11Zuthul Puk to Hor Qu (Lake Mansarovar) (Approx. 14 km Trek)

Continue your trek to the breathtaking Hor Qu, another name for Lake Mansarovar (4,560 meters). According to Hindu beliefs, Mount Kailash is the earthly embodiment of Mount Meru—the axis of the universe and the abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Pilgrims have journeyed here for centuries seeking purification and enlightenment. The trek concludes here at the sacred lake.

Day 12Hor Qu (Lake Mansarovar) to Mayumla Phedi

After soaking in the awe-inspiring views of Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, begin your return drive to Mayumla Phedi.

Day 13Mayumla Phedi to New Dongba

Drive back to New Dongba, retracing your route through the rugged high-altitude terrain. This 7-8 hour journey will be a test of endurance and a feast for the eyes.

Day 14New Dongba to Yak Kharkha (Approx. 160 km)

Continue your descent to Yak Kharkha at 4,675 meters. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you move towards lower elevations.

Day 15Yak Kharkha to Nyalam

Drive down to Nyalam (3,750 meters) amidst stunning mountain scenery and Tibetan settlements.

 

Day 16Nyalam to Kathmandu (Approx. 150 km)

Descend further to Kathmandu. The drive will pass through charming villages, giving you one last glimpse of rural Tibetan life before arriving in the cultural heart of Nepal.

Day 17Kathmandu – Dakshinkali Excursion and Leisure

Embark on a final excursion to Dakshinkali Temple, a revered Hindu pilgrimage site known for traditional animal sacrifices to the goddess Kali. Explore the rural surroundings where farming is the primary livelihood. Spend the rest of the day at leisure before an evening transfer to the airport.

Day 18Departure from Kathmandu

Your sacred journey concludes today. Our representatives will ensure a smooth transfer to the airport for your onward flight, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage.
