From there, venture into the heartland of the fierce Angami Naga warriors, trekking through some of Northeast India’s most breathtaking valleys and experiencing the vibrant tribal heritage firsthand.

Discover Shillong, famously dubbed the “Scotland of the East,” where you will enjoy a unique stay at the summer palace of the King of Tripura amidst the serene Khasi Hills. Explore Sibsagar, the historic capital of the Ahom dynasty — rulers who shaped Assam’s history for over five centuries before British arrival. This tour promises a perfect blend of wildlife, history, trekking, and tribal culture in some of India’s most pristine and unexplored regions.

Day 1Arrival at Guwahati

Touch down at Guwahati Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed with a traditional ‘Swagat.’ Our representatives will assist you with your transfer to the hotel for a restful overnight stay.

Day 2Guwahati to Kaziranga

After breakfast, drive to the iconic Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check into your hotel or resort. Spend your afternoon visiting a nearby tea estate and exploring the lives of the Tea Tribes. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 3Kaziranga National Park Safari

Begin your day early with a thrilling elephant safari in the Central Range of Kaziranga, followed by a jeep safari in the Eastern Range. After lunch, embark on another jeep safari to the Western Range, maximizing your chances to spot wildlife. Return to the resort for overnight.

Day 4Kaziranga to Kohima via Touphema

Depart after breakfast for Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Visit Touphema, an Angami Naga village, and enjoy an immersive cultural performance by the locals. Overnight stay at Touphema Tourist Village.

Day 5Kohima Exploration & Dimori Cove

Spend your morning exploring the village. After breakfast, head to Kohima to visit the solemn WWII Cemetery, where one of the fiercest battles of the war took place. Reflect on the inspiring war memorial inscriptions. Continue to the State Museum at Bayani Hill, which offers fascinating insights into Naga culture, showcasing artifacts, handicrafts, and ancient weaponry. Proceed to the nearby Angami village of Jakhama before returning to Kohima for overnight.

Day 6Visit Khonoma – The Legendary Tribal Village

Travel to Khonoma, famed as the home of Angami Phizo, the father of the Naga nationalist movement. This picturesque hilltop village also marks the last battleground of the Anglo-Naga war, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Return to Kohima for the night.

Day 7Kohima to Dimapur to Sibsagar

Early breakfast followed by departure to Sibsagar, the ancient seat of the Ahom kingdom. Explore the remnants of their grand legacy, marking the 500-year rule that preceded the British era. Overnight at Sibsagar.

Day 8Explore the Ahom Legacy & Travel to Jorhat

Visit the Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams—majestic burial mounds of Ahom kings at Charaideo. In the afternoon, drive to Jorhat, known as the “Tea Capital of the World,” and check into your hotel.

 

Day 9Jorhat – Tea Estates & Assamese Culture

Visit the historic Thengal Mansion, a heritage home of a tea planter, located in a traditional Assamese village. Gain insight into the region’s rich culture and traditions. After lunch, take a stroll through a nearby village to experience the simplicity and warmth of rural Assamese life.

Day 10Journey from Jorhat to Shillong

After breakfast, drive through scenic landscapes to Shillong (approx. 6 hours). Stop for lunch by the tranquil Umiam Lake (Borapani). Arrive in Shillong and check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 11Shillong Sightseeing

Explore Shillong’s charming attractions, including Ward Lake, Hydari Park, Elephanta Falls, and the panoramic Shillong Peak. This city is the heartland of the Khasi tribe and a former capital of undivided Assam, earning its nickname “Scotland of the East.” Overnight in Shillong.

Day 12Shillong to Guwahati

Drive back to Guwahati. Upon arrival, explore the vibrant city known as the gateway to Northeast India. In the evening, enjoy a serene river cruise on the Brahmaputra River, famous locally as the ‘Luit’ or ‘River of Blood’ for its striking hues during sunset. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 13Explore Guwahati

Visit iconic sites such as Kamakhya Temple, Peacock Island, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, Assam State Zoo, and the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra cultural complex. This day can be tailored to your interests.

Day 14Departure

Your unforgettable tour concludes today. We ensure a timely transfer to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey, bidding you farewell with fond memories of Northeast India’s wildlife and cultural splendor.
