Embark on an unforgettable 14-day journey through the serene and mystical landscapes of Northeast India’s Himalayas. From the mighty Brahmaputra River to the spiritual sanctuaries of Tawang and the wildlife-rich Kaziranga, each day promises a new adventure into the heart of this enchanting region.
Arrive in Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India, where a warm traditional ‘Swagat’ awaits you. Settle into your hotel, then spend the evening on a tranquil cruise along the majestic Brahmaputra River. Witness the sunset over the river locally called ‘Luit’—the river of blood—captivating with its rich hues and folklore.
After breakfast, drive through the scenic tea gardens of Tezpur towards Bhalukpung, nestled at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. Cross into Arunachal Pradesh, a land of pristine natural beauty. Stop at Tipi to explore the Orchidarium, home to over 7,500 orchid varieties, before continuing to Bomdilla. Relax at your hotel upon arrival.
Visit the upper and lower Buddhist monasteries (Gompas) in Bomdilla early morning. After breakfast, travel to Tawang through the ancient Dirang Basti tribal village, the picturesque Dirang town by the river, and over the stunning Sela Pass at 13,703 ft. Pay homage at Jaswant Garh war memorial before settling into your hotel. As night falls, enjoy the sight of the illuminated Tawang Monastery.
Explore the 350-year-old Tawang Monastery, seemingly suspended in the clouds. Visit Ani Gompa (the nunnery) and the historic Urgelling Monastery, birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. In the evening, experience traditional Monpa tribal dances and spiritual performances by local Lamas.
Early morning, visit a nearby Monpa tribal village to interact with locals and immerse yourself in their traditional way of life. Return to Tawang for cultural activities and a restful overnight stay.
Drive to Jang for a spectacular view of pristine waterfalls, a highlight of the region. Continue your journey via the scenic Sela Top at 13,000 ft. Arrive in Bomdilla for an overnight stay amidst stunning natural surroundings.
Spend the day trekking through the Sangti Valley and Dirang Monpa villages, known for their unique culture and as a winter refuge for the rare Black-necked Cranes. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Drive early to Nameri National Park, a sanctuary for the elusive White-winged Wood Duck and many rare species. Enjoy an exhilarating elephant safari through the park’s lush forests. Stay overnight in eco-friendly thatched huts at the adjacent Eco Camp, offering a truly immersive nature experience.
Travel to Kaziranga National Park, famous worldwide for its population of one-horned rhinos. En route, visit Tezpur with its ancient mythological sites. Overnight at Kaziranga Tourist Lodge.
Begin your day with an early elephant safari in the central Kaziranga region. After lunch, explore the park further with a thrilling jeep safari. Spend the evening at leisure amidst nature’s splendor.
Visit a local tribal village and nearby tea estates before embarking on a jeep safari in the park’s eastern range. Enjoy a packed lunch and continue exploring the rich biodiversity. Overnight at the lodge.
Drive back to Guwahati. After lunch, explore government emporiums where you can purchase authentic souvenirs representing Northeast India’s rich heritage. Optional evening boat cruise on the Brahmaputra River.
Spend the day exploring Guwahati’s cultural landmarks including the famous Kamakhya Temple, known for its tantric rituals, Kalakshetra for a glimpse of Assamese culture, and Bashistha Ashram. Overnight at your hotel.

Important Notes:
A Restricted Area Permit is required to visit Arunachal Pradesh (Bomdilla & Tawang). Foreigners must pay a USD 50 one-time entry fee. We facilitate the permit application with at least one month’s prior notice and necessary documents.
Travel Conditions: Roads are generally good, though the Bomdilla-Tawang sector features narrow mountain roads that can be prone to landslides during monsoon but are well-maintained by defense forces due to strategic importance.
Best Time to Visit: September to April, when weather is favorable and road conditions are optimal.
