7-Day Ultimate Ladakh Adventure

Day 1Arrival in Leh

Touch down at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport, one of the world’s most spectacular flight approaches. On a clear day, you can spot some of the highest peaks on earth, including K2, Nanga Parbat, and the Nun Kun massif. Upon arrival, meet your friendly local representative and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the high altitude. Enjoy a warm welcome with tea or coffee at the hotel.

In the evening, explore the Leh Palace with its panoramic views, visit the serene Shanti Stupa, and stroll through the vibrant Leh Market.

Day 2Leh to Sham Valley (75 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive along the Indus River on the Leh-Kargil highway. Your first stop is the peaceful Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, set amidst the majestic Himalayas.

Next, experience the marvel of Magnetic Hill, a natural optical illusion where vehicles appear to defy gravity and roll uphill. Continue to the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, a breathtaking natural wonder.

En route to your camp or hotel, visit the impressive Likir Monastery, famous for its colossal golden statue of the Maitreya Buddha. Then proceed to Ridzong Monastery, nestled at the end of a steep valley, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere.

Day 3Sham Valley to Leh via Lamayuru (180 km / 5–6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive towards the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, dating back to the 11th century. Along the way, witness the surreal Moonland landscapes—barren rock formations that resemble the surface of the moon, offering an otherworldly experience.

On your return to Leh, stop at the Alchi Gompa, a remarkable complex known for its exquisite 11th-century murals and artwork. Next, visit Basgo, home to the ruins of Ladakh’s 15th-century capital with a dramatic skyline.

Day 4Leh to Pangong Lake (140 km / 4–5 hrs)

Depart early for the stunning Pangong Lake, crossing some iconic sights along the way. Stop at Shey Palace, the ancient royal capital of Ladakh, and visit the famous 3 Idiots Rancho School. Continue to Thiksey Monastery, an impressive multi-tiered complex perched on a hilltop.

Cross the thrilling Changla Pass at 5,486 meters, stopping for photos at one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Enjoy a tea break at Tangtse village before the final drive through remote Changthang villages.

Arrive at the mesmerizing Pangong Lake, a serene blue brackish lake stretching over 133 km, half of which lies across the Indo-China border. Immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of this high-altitude wonderland, popularized worldwide after the film 3 Idiots.

Day 5Pangong Lake to Leh (140 km / 6 hrs)

Spend a leisurely morning soaking in the breathtaking views of Pangong Lake. Later, journey back to Leh, stopping at Hemis Monastery, the largest and most famous Drukpa Kagyu Buddhist monastery in Ladakh.

Return to Leh for check-in and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 6Leh Excursion to Khardung La Pass (39 km / 2 hrs one way)

After breakfast, drive to Khardung La Pass, the world’s highest motorable road at 5,602 meters (18,390 feet). From this vantage point, marvel at panoramic views spanning the Indus Valley, the rugged Zanskar Range, and the towering Saser massif.

Return to Leh for lunch, then spend your afternoon exploring the local markets for last-minute souvenirs and handicrafts.

Day 7Departure from Leh

Your memorable Ladakh journey concludes today. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Leh Airport for your onward flight, carrying with you unforgettable memories of the “Land of High Passes.”
